A short version of the classic Everest Trek reaching a high point for a view of the summit.

Day 01: Upon arrival I Kathmandu a representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 02: Free day in Kathmandu to make the final preparations for your trek or so dome exploring on your own. We will be happy to arrange sightseeing tours of the valley for you if you desire. Please ask for this service with our airport representative upon arrival.

Day 03: Transfer from hotel. Fly to Lukla (9,200 ft.) have lunch, and trek downhill to Ghat; walk on a trail above the river to camp at Phakding (8,700 ft.).

Day 04: Trek up the Dhudh Kosi valley, crossing the river near Benkar, then climb through Chomoa To Monjo (9.360 ft.) for lunch. Above Monjo you are in the Sagarmatha National Park. There are quite a few trails here, so be sure to walk with a Sherpa. The primary trail makes a steep climb from Monjo, crosses a ridge, and makes some ups and downs before descending to the Dudh Kosi again, crossing it on a wooden cantilever bridge at the bottom of the ridge. It is a steep climb to camp at Namche Bazaar, elevation 11,300 ft. It is most important to walk slowly on the climb to Namche, otherwise you can exhaust yourself and be too tired to enjoy your trek.
TAKE YOUR TIME.

There is a tea shop selling both cold and hot drinks after the steepest part of the climb is over. This is a good place to rest, have a drink and enjoy your first view of Mt. Everest.

Day 05: Climb from Namche Bazaar to Chorkung on a saddle above the village, the traverse high above the Dudh Kosi to Teshinga. Slong the trail are good views of Everest (29,028 ft.), Ama Ablam (22,495 ft.) and Thamserku (21,730 ft.) after a shopping excursion amongst the Tibetan traders at Kenjoma, descend to the river at Phunki Thanghka (10,660 ft.) for lunch. Take a very steep climb to Thyangboche (12,680 ft.) for the night. If you are cold, a hot drink in the monastery lodge will warm you up.
Thyangboche monastery, which was a landmark for any visit to this region, was gutted and is being re-built from scratch using the original design.

Day 06: It will be cold at night, but it is worth getting up early for good mountain views before breakfast. The trail descends to the nunnery at Devuche, then crosses the rushing Dudh Kosi. Descend again to the river then climb gently to Pangboche (13,075 ft.) for lunch. From Pangboche continue through alpine landscape to Dingboche (14,300 ft.) for the night.

Day 07: Walk back to Thyangboche via same route.

Day 08: Down to Punki Thanka and again climb the hill towards Namche Bazaar, but make a detour to visit the Sherpa villages of Khumjung (12,430 ft.) and Khunde. Climb a small hill, cross the Shyangboche airstrip (12,595 ft.), and then make a steep descent to Namche and camp.

Day 09: Continue down the Dudh Kosi valley through Benkar, Phakding, Ghat, and Chablung, then make the final steep ascent back to Lukla. You should be in Lukla by tonight to ensure that you are on time for the plane the following day.

Day 10: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

IF YOU ARE SICK OR TIRED: Do not proceed beyond Thyangboche. The view of Mount Everest is outstanding from Thyangboche. There is no view of Everest from Dingboche. The Sirdar will arrange food and accommodation for you if you wish to stay at Thyangboche. This also applies if you feel ill or tired when you reach Namche Bazaar. Stay at Namche and let the rest of the group go on. You can spend a day or two at Namche and make day hikes up on the ridge near the National park Headquarters for a spectacular view of Everest and Ama Dablam. Do not endanger your health by continuing with the trek if you are exhausted. The altitude affects everyone differently; you may be tired because of problems of high altitude even though you are perfectly fit and healthy.

                   Day 11: In Kathmandu

Day 12: Transfer to airport for your final departure.
